End of Week 2

Bonjour !

We're finishing week two, here in Saint-Brieuc which is close to the halfway mark of the program! After getting used to their host families, the city, and France as a whole during the first week, students now have their habits and routine here. They have already become much more independent with taking public transit, going into shops, and accomplishing daily tasks in French!

On Thursday, we had classes as usual, internet time, and time for physical exercise. Once again, volleyball was quite popular, along with yoga, soccer, and some dancing!

On Friday, we had our second excursion, to Dinan and Saint-Malo. In the morning we walked around the medieval town of Dinan and had a guided tour through the historic castle. Dinan is a really beautiful town and it is not very touristy, which is great for us! We finished our morning there with a sack lunch behind the basilica.

We then headed to Saint-Malo, where students were given about 2 hours to explore on their own (in groups of three). Most chose to go shopping for souvenirs and clothes, but others just wandered around the fortified town.

This weekend students are with their host families, and some of them are going to beautiful Île de Bréhat today, which will be an amazing time I'm sure! The next blog post will be on Wednesday, which will be just two weeks away from our return to the US!
